Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman underwent a heart procedure Sunday after being hospitalized with chest pain, his management company told The Associated Press.

Koeman is expected to return home Monday.

"We are shocked and wish him a good recovery," Bas Ticheler, spokesman for the Dutch national team, told The Associated Press.

Koeman reportedly felt discomfort after a bike ride in Amsterdam.

The 57-year-old took over as coach of the Netherlands in February 2018 and has compiled an 11-5-3 record to date. The Dutch transformed themselves under his watch and earned massive wins against World Cup holder France and rival Germany in the Nations League and Euro qualifying, respectively.

The Netherlands qualified for Euro 2020 in November, ending a barren four-year run in which the country failed to qualify for a major international tournament. The Euros are now postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
