Inter jumped out to a 2-0 lead 11 minutes into Wednesday's Champions League semifinal against their city rivals AC Milan and never looked back.

Edin Dzeko opened the scoring in the first-leg contest with a volley off a corner that seemingly came from out of nowhere. Then Henrikh Mkhitaryan piled the pressure on the Rossoneri players with a powerful strike inside the box to double Inter's lead against the stunned hosts.

Milan, without star player Rafael Leao through injury, struggled to rebound from the early deficit and slumped to a deflating defeat.

Inter will be the host for the second leg on May 16.
