Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed to be a Juventus player next season after clinching his first Serie A title Saturday.

The 34-year-old was subject of reports that he was considering leaving Italy in the wake of Tuesday's Champions League round-of-16 elimination to Ajax. He allayed the Bianconeri fans' fears, however, when he addressed the media following the weekend's 2-1 defeat of Fiorentina.

"I'm really happy to have won the Italian title in my first season here. It has been a great season for this Juventus, we also won the Italian Supercup," assessed Ronaldo, according to ESPN. "We didn't do so well in the Champions League but there is always next year."

When asked whether he would remain with Juventus for the 2019-20 campaign, he replied: "1,000 percent."

Ronaldo, a €100-million signing from Real Madrid last summer, made his competitive debut for Juventus at Chievo Verona in mid-August, but didn't score his first goal in Italian football until nearly a month later. Overall, he's netted 19 times in Serie A and scored another six times in the Champions League.

"Cristiano arrived with great humility and helped us improve - all of us," captain Giorgio Chiellini said after sitting out the Fiorentina match with an injury. "He is totally dedicated to football.

"He is different to the others and to us he is a milestone for the future. I had no doubts he would stay."

The primary reason for Ronaldo's unveiling in Turin was to help Juventus deliver on the European stage. The ruthless marksman has won the Champions League five times, capturing his first and only title with Manchester United in 2008.
