Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has revealed that both Manchester clubs have expressed an interest in him over the past couple of years.

Bonucci told Jason Burt of The Telegraph that Manchester United inquired about his services this past summer, but admitted there was no chance he'd join the club once the opportunity to rejoin Juventus began to materialize.

Manchester City came calling for Bonucci two years ago, but the 31-year-old turned down an opportunity to play in the Premier League in favour of winning trophies with the Bianconeri.

"With Manchester City, when I received that offer, I actually talked to the club, I talked to Juventus, and we decided that it was good for me to stay and to keep on winning with Juventus," Bonucci said.

"And this year when I was told there was a possibility to go back home, to come back to Juventus, I just stopped listening to any other offers and decided to come back here."

Bonucci spent seven years in Turin before joining Milan on a five-year contract after his transfer demand in 2017 was granted. But after just one season, Bonucci was included in a swap deal with Mattia Caldara that saw him return to Juventus on Aug. 2.

Along with winning several individual honors, Bonucci has played a major role in helping Juve win six league titles and several other domestic trophies.
