Marseille's latest loss was a massive blow for a club hoping to secure a spot in next season's Champions League, as they now sit eight points back of third after playing one additional match.

Forward Florian Thauvin apparently isn't worried about missing out on the most lucrative tournament in club football and questioned whether his side could even compete at that level after falling 2-0 to Bordeaux on Friday.

"I'm talking shit, I'm tired, but we've been poor this season," Thauvin told reporters after Marseille's 11th loss of the campaign, according to Julien Pretot of Reuters.

"It's the same story every season. I'm fed up. For a top-three finish, it's over. And even if we get into the Champions League, what's the point? We're rubbish."

The French club's Champions League drought looks set to carry over into next year, as it last competed in the tournament during the 2013-14 season.
