Everton manager Marco Silva confirmed Monday that the club has rejected a bid for Idrissa Gueye, adding the midfielder will not be sold during the winter transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain launched a bid worth £21.5 million for the 29-year-old, according to The Telegraph's Chris Bascombe. That sum reportedly falls well below Everton's valuation.

"My reaction is the same as our reaction as a club. We reject the offer. He is a really important player for us," Silva said. "We do not put players in the market for clubs to buy. I can't see the value of Gana in this offer. He is a player we do not think of losing at this moment. He is important for us."

It's understood PSG hoped to sign the Senegal international, who has made a Premier League-leading 83 tackles this season, as they prepare for the reported summer departure of Adrien Rabiot.

Although PSG have apparently missed out on Gueye, manager Thomas Tuchel revealed Saturday the club are close to completing a deal to sign midfielder Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg.
