Barcelona wrapped up a deal to sign highly rated Toulouse center-back Jean-Clair Todibo on Tuesday, announcing the 19-year-old will arrive in July on a free transfer.
Todibo reportedly drew interest from Manchester City and Juventus before agreeing to join the Blaugrana.
He's expected to be one of two Frenchmen to arrive in the Catalan capital on a free deal, with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot reportedly set to follow in the summer.
Like Rabiot - who fell out with PSG over a new contract - Todibo saw his relationship with Toulouse deteriorate over the past two months. He's been held out of the first team since November, and it's unclear if the situation will change now that a move to Barcelona is on the cards.
Although he started his career in midfield, Todibo made his breakthrough at center-back. He's celebrated for his ability on the ball, as well as his efficient clearances, drawing comparisons to World Cup winner and Real Madrid star Raphael Varane.
Todibo will join a strong French contingent at Barcelona, with compatriots Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet already in the defensive ranks.
