France and Turkey are the latest nations to secure berths at the 2020 European Championship.

Courtesy of Turkey's goalless draw with Iceland in Istanbul, both Senol Gunes' lot and World Cup holders France are guaranteed to finish in the top-two spots in Group H, ensuring a place for each squad at next summer's tournament.

Iceland can still qualify as one of four additional entrants using the playoff route in March 2020.

With progression guaranteed, France fell behind against 175th-ranked Moldova in the late kickoff when Vadim Rata gave his side a 1-0 lead after nine minutes at the Stade de France. Center-back Raphael Varane equalized 10 minutes before the break ahead of Olivier Giroud's 40th Les Bleus goal from the penalty spot in the 79th minute.

The Chelsea striker is now just one goal adrift of Michel Platini for second all time. Thierry Henry remains tops with 51 markers in 123 caps.

Turkey has now qualified for three of the last four European Championships, with a third-place result in 2008 matching the country's best-ever finish at a major tournament. Turkey also finished third at the 2002 World Cup.

Turkey and France join England, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Spain in qualifying for the 24-team tournament that, for the first time, will be hosted at 12 venues across the continent and the United Kingdom.
