Barcelona confirmed Saturday that Luis Suarez has recovered from a knee injury and is available for selection when the club kick-starts the resumption of La Liga's 2019-20 term June 13 at Mallorca.

Suarez underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after suffering the injury during the Spanish Super Cup semifinals against Atletico Madrid in January.

"After more than four months out due to injury, the Uruguayan is now ready to return for the final part of the season," Barcelona's statement read.

The club added that Suarez returned to training at the beginning of May.

Suarez will provide an attacking boost for a Barcelona side sweating Lionel Messi's fitness. The talismanic Argentine twice missed training this week with a quadriceps worry that's raised doubts about his ability to compete against Mallorca.

Despite missing Barcelona's last eight league outings, Suarez remains joint-third in La Liga for goals (11) and assists (7).

The two-time reigning Spanish champions enter next Saturday's clash with relegation fodder Mallorca boasting a two-point advantage on rivals Real Madrid atop the table.
