Tottenham striker Harry Kane agreed to sponsor Leyton Orient's shirts for the 2020-21 season, setting up a unique deal with his former club to pay tribute to key workers and relevant charities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Orient's new home kit carries a message of thanks to those who've served on the frontline during the health crisis, while the away and third kits bear the names of local charities.

Kane made his first professional start with the O's in 2011 while on loan from Tottenham. Since then, he's become one of the game's best strikers, winning the Premier League's Golden Boot on two occasions.

"I was born and brought up only at a couple of miles from the stadium and I am really happy to have the opportunity to give back to the club that gave me my first professional start," Kane told the club's website.

"This also gives me a platform to be able to say a big thank you to the many frontline heroes and charities out there who provide care and support during these challenging times."

Orient said 10% of the proceeds of each shirt sale will go directly to the kit's corresponding charity. Kane chose to feature Haven House Children's Hospice and mental health charity Mind on the kits.

Kane was 17 years old when he joined Orient and scored five goals in 18 appearances with the side.
