Rampant Leeds stretch lead at top of Championship
Dan James scored twice as Leeds crushed Watford 4-0 to move five points clear at the top of the English Championship on Tuesday, taking their unbeaten run to 14 league matches.
Manor Solomon and Joel Piroe were also on target for Daniel Farke's men, who have now scored 13 goals without reply in their past three matches.
Watford's fifth straight home defeat increases the pressure on head coach Tom Cleverley.
The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute when James seized on a misplaced pass from Edo Kayembe, sprinting into the box and slotting past Egil Selvik.
James smashed home again eight minutes later when Watford were caught by a rapid counter-attack and Solomon made it 3-0 before half-time. Piroe added another just after the hour mark.
Leeds have 69 points after 32 matches, five more than second-placed Sheffield United, who have a game in hand.
They have scored 66 goals, 16 more than anyone else in the division.
Bobby Thomas scored a winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Coventry beat QPR 1-0 to move up to the edge of the play-off positions.
The game looked to be heading for stalemate when Thomas nodded in from Jack Rudoni's corner to earn Frank Lampard's men a fifth win in six league outings.
In other matches, Portsmouth beat Cardiff 2-1 and Preston beat Norwich 1-0. The match between Derby and Oxford finished goalless.
