Arsenal have moved quickly to try and complete a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard.

Days after missing out Mykhaylo Mudryk, the Gunners are in advanced talks to sign the 28-year-old Belgian, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

It's understood that Brighton accepted an offer worth around £27 million and that the transfer is now described as a "done deal," The Athletic's David Ornstein adds.

Arsenal already agreed to terms over a long-term contract with Trossard, who, according to his agent, said last Friday that he wanted to leave Brighton after being "humiliated" by manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The Italian coach said Trossard was dropped for last Saturday's game against Liverpool after leaving training without permission following a disagreement. But Josy Comhair, Trossard's agent, claimed that the forward had a calf injury.

Fresh off losing out on Mudryk - the Ukrainian winger who joined Premier League rivals Chelsea last weekend in a transfer reportedly worth up to €100 million - Arsenal's need to reinforce their attack is still evident after losing star forward Gabriel Jesus to injury amid their strong title pursuit.

Arsenal have an eight-point cushion atop the Premier League after 18 games.

The highly rated Trossard, who joined Brighton from Genk for €15 million in 2019, scored 25 goals in 116 Premier League appearances.
