Serge Aurier stormed out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during halftime of Thursday's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool following a furious row with manager Jose Mourinho, sources told ESPN's Julien Laurens.

Tottenham Hotspur conceded deep into injury time of the first half, and it's understood that Mourinho subsequently criticized Aurier - along with Eric Dier and Joe Rodon - for his role in Roberto Firmino's goal that made it 1-0 to the visitors.

Aurier was reportedly furious at being singled out by his manager and, upon hearing he would be replaced by Harry Winks for the second half, decided to leave the stadium.

For the game's opening goal, Sadio Mane seized space behind Aurier and Rodon before squaring a ball that bounced between goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Dier before meeting Firmino.

Mourinho alluded to the halftime disharmony after the match, saying the response to Firmino's tap-in was natural for a competitive squad.

"It was the mood of team that was difficult to accept you are losing," he said.

"It's difficult to accept the nature of the goal because the goal is in some aspects a replica of the chance they had in the first minute. So it's, of course, a mood where people (are) not happy."
