Manchester United teen Mason Greenwood has been warned for disciplinary reasons after the 19-year-old reported late to team activities on numerous occasions, according to a report from The Guardian's Jamie Jackson.

The news of Greenwood's alleged indiscretions comes days after United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strongly denied speculation suggesting the 19-year-old was dropped from the squad for a violation of team rules.

Greenwood didn't feature in Saturday's win over Newcastle United, nor did he travel with the team for the dramatic Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night in the French capital.

Greenwood participated in training Monday, though Solskjaer asserted the forward has a small injury, saying: "I can't declare medical stuff, can I? We hope it's just a niggle, and we don't want to take any chances with him, and, hopefully, at the weekend it'll be fine again."

It's been a turbulent start to the 2020-21 campaign for Greenwood after the United academy product enjoyed a stellar breakthrough term with the club last season, scoring 17 goals across all competitions.

Greenwood and Manchester City's Phil Foden were dropped from Gareth Southgate's England squad in September after the pair broke quarantine rules by inviting women to their hotel in Iceland.

Solskjaer was supportive of Southgate's decision, saying: "Mason has to reflect on where he's at and what he needs to do, how to get to where he wants to get to."
