Ajax's Van de Beek rules out January exit amid reported links to United

Manchester United's reported interest in a possible pursuit of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek will have to wait.

The Dutch international insisted he'll remain at Ajax for at least the remainder of the season despite being linked to United, as well as Real Madrid.

"It is not that I can or want to do something at the moment," Van de Beek told FOX Sports Netherlands, according to ESPN FC's Mark Ogden. "I have said it before and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season as well.

"These reports about Real Madrid or Man United are a good sign, but it is not important now. I've said I will stay at Ajax and I will do so for 100%."

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was reportedly weighing a move for Van de Beek during the January transfer window in an attempt to add midfield reinforcements.

It's understood that Ajax could demand a fee in the region of £50 million for Van de Beek, who's scored eight goals in 26 matches in all competitions.

Van de Beek established himself as one of Ajax's key players last season during the club's unexpected run to the semifinal stage of the Champions League. He ended the 2018-19 campaign with 17 goals and 13 assists in 57 appearances.
