Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was none too pleased with Hamza Choudhury after Saturday's dramatic match at Anfield, scolding the Leicester City midfielder for a "dangerous as hell" tackle on Mohamed Salah, according to ESPN's Melissa Reddy.

The Egyptian star limped off the pitch with an ankle problem in the waning minutes of the Reds' 2-1 win, visibly in discomfort after the afro-clad Englishman clattered into him in an effort to win back the ball.

"It's just a challenge which I really don't understand," Klopp said after the contest. "How he can do it, because the ball is far away. The player is full sprint to bring him down without the ball around, for me there is only one color card."

Choudhury, who's come under fire in the past for reckless tackling, was shown a yellow card for the foul on Salah.

"It is dangerous as hell," Klopp added. "I don't want to cause the boy any problems, but he has to calm down. He has to calm down."

His counterpart Brendan Rodgers, unsurprisingly, felt differently.

"I don't think it was an overly bad challenge," the Leicester coach said of the incident.

"He is an honest boy, Hamza. He makes challenges, he's aggressive, but I don't think there was anything malicious."

Choudhury was shown a red card in June while playing for the England Under-21 side after a callous sliding challenge on Frenchman Jonathan Bamba.

More recently, he was the subject of Steve Bruce's ire after injuring Matt Ritchie in the League Cup with a tackle that was branded a "horror challenge" by the Newcastle manager.

Those incidents weren't lost on Klopp.

"This is not the first situation like this," the Liverpool bench boss said. "He is a super player, but these kind of challenges - no."
