Report: Arsenal agree to pay £25M for Celtic's Tierney
The third time's a charm.
After two unsuccessful bids, Arsenal finally convinced Celtic to sell promising left-back Kieran Tierney for £25 million, the BBC's Brian McLauchlin reports.
Tierney will head to London to complete a medical and officially bring an end to a months-long saga.
The 22-year-old is expected to sign a contract worth £75,000 a week, according to the Guardian's Ed Aarons and Ewan Murray.
Arsenal's first offer in June was reportedly worth £15 million and their second valued at around £25 million. The latter proposal met Celtic's asking price but the club reportedly objected to the structure of payment.
However, the two sides reached a compromise on the third attempt.
Tierney underwent a double hernia operation in May to repair a nagging hip injury and missed the start of Celtic's season.
