Manchester United and Ashley Young are close to reaching a one-year agreement for the 2019-20 campaign, according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.

Young, whose contract is set to expire this summer, is said to be eager to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

Despite his advanced age, United officials have reportedly been impressed by the 33-year-old's positive influence on the team.

Young, who joined United from Aston Villa in 2011, has been a staple for the club this season, appearing in 20 of the team's 25 Premier League matches.

The England international is one of five current United players who were a part of the club's last Premier League-winning squad during the 2012-13 campaign.
