Juan Mata's future at Manchester United looks to be coming into focus.

United have offered the 30-year-old a one-year extension to his current deal, which expires in June, according to ESPN's Rob Dawson.

The offer will likely include an option for an additional 12 months, Dawson adds.

Mata has been free to speak to other clubs about a transfer since the start of the month. James Robson of the Evening Standard suggests the 2010 World Cup winner is open to a move to Serie A but uninterested in the potential of a move to Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League.

The Spanish midfielder was often cast aside under Jose Mourinho but has appeared revitalized so far during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's interim reign, scoring in the FA Cup win over Reading at the start of January.

Mata has tallied five goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.
