Holders RB Leipzig edge past 2nd-tier Wiesbaden in DFB-Pokal
Defending champions RB Leipzig struggled to defeat second division Wiesbaden 3-2 and make the last 16 of the German Cup on Wednesday.
The match came ahead of two key games for Leipzig -- they host Bayern Munich on Saturday in the Bundesliga before facing Manchester City in the Champions League.
Leipzig were 2-0 inside 18 minutes thanks to goals from Emil Forsberg and Benjamin Sesko.
However, instead of a goal glut, Leipzig took their foot off the accelerator and Ivan Prtajin pulled one back for Wiesbaden four minutes before the interval.
Sesko restored Leipzig's two-goal cushion in the 70th minute before Prtajin caimed his second just three minutes later to cut the deficit again.
Bayern Munich made the next round on Tuesday thanks to a 4-0 win over third division Munster.
