Peter and Jeffrey Lenkov will close their deal to purchase the Montreal Alouettes within the next seven to 10 days, sources told Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette.

The Lenkov brothers, who have Montreal roots, will reportedly buy 51% of the franchise, leaving 49% for Pierre Boivin and local private investment firm Claridge.

Bob Wetenhall sold the Alouettes to the CFL in May after failing to identify a buyer and accelerate the sale of his team.

The Lenkovs have long been believed to be potential investors. Peter, a 55-year-old writer and producer, attended Concordia University, while Jeffrey, a 53-year-old lawyer, studied at McGill University.
