Borussia Dortmund may have pulled off the best Black Friday purchase of the year by securing the long-term services of Paco Alcacer.

The Spanish forward made his loan move from Barcelona permanent Friday by signing a five-year contract until 2023 with the Bundesliga leaders.

According to the agreement signed between the two clubs last summer, Friday's announcement will see Barcelona collect €23 million, plus €5 million in add-ons.

The 25-year-old has made a positive impression in the opening months of the season, scoring the winner against Bayern Munich on Nov. 10 to bring his Bundesliga tally to eight goals in six matches.

"I am very happy in Dortmund, at BVB, and in this wonderful team," Alcacer said, as translated by BVB Buzz. "Borussia Dortmund was and is exactly the right decision for me. I will do everything I can to say thank you for your trust."

His strong start to the season was also rewarded with a call-up to the national team following a two-year absence. He went on to score a brace in his first match against Wales before scoring again as a substitute during an encounter with England.

Alcacer spent two seasons in Barcelona following his €30-million transfer from Valencia in 2016. But the forward ultimately failed to impress at the Camp Nou, managing to make just 50 appearances in a Barcelona kit.
