Joshua accepts terms for Fury fight on Dec. 3
The Battle of Britain is almost set.
Anthony Joshua agreed to terms to challenge WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury on Dec. 3.
Joshua's management company, 258, announced Tuesday a deal had been made last Friday but said communications were halted due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II the day prior.
The long-awaited bout is expected to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, previously said they'd agreed to a 40-60 split with Fury.
The former WBA-IBF-WBO world heavyweight champion lost to Oleksandr Usyk for a second straight time in August, seemingly closing the door on an all-English matchup with Fury.
But with Usyk announcing he wouldn't fight for the rest of the year, Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) pivoted to a bout against Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs). The two previously agreed to fight in 2020 but ultimately faced other opponents.
