Mike Tyson apparently wants the champ.

Tyson Fury, the current owner of the WBC heavyweight belt, says he was recently offered the chance to face the iconic former champion in a charity exhibition bout. And although there are other professional fights on Fury's docket, he's not opposed to the idea.

"I got a phone call saying 'Would you like to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition fight?' I was like, 'Hell yeah,'" Fury told BT Sport on Tuesday.

Despite his eager acceptance of the offer, Fury acknowledges it's highly unlikely he'll clash with Tyson.

"I don't think anything's materialized out of it, to be honest," he added.

"Iron Mike" recently went public with his comeback attempt after posting several cryptic workout videos to social media over the past few weeks.

Speculation is swirling about Tyson facing fellow retired quinquagenarian and longtime rival Evander Holyfield, and both men have said they're open to meeting again. But that matchup isn't set in stone, as the 53-year-old Tyson said last week that "so many guys" are lined up to face him. He didn't mention any other names.

Fury, who's scheduled to defend his belt against Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight later this year, thinks Tyson and Holyfield should push ahead despite their ages.

"I think they're a bit long in the teeth, but then again who am I to say anything (about) what anybody's capable of?" Fury said. "... I wouldn't try and kill anybody's dreams of doing anything they want. If they're both fit to fight, and medically fit, then let them do what they gotta do."
