Ovechkin back in Washington after Olympic disappointment, father's health issues
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was present at practice on Tuesday, as per Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington and the team's official Twitter account.
Ovechkin's return comes on the heels of a disappointing result for Russia at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, and a heart procedure undergone by his father during the Olympics.
The Capitals' captain skated on a top line with Nicklas Backsrom and Martin Erat, and will be looking to improve on his league-leading 40 goals when play resumes.
