The Philadelphia Flyers are effectively shutting down defenseman Luke Schenn.

“Luke Schenn is unlikely to play the rest of the season," Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said Monday. "We will give final medical information when we have it in full."

Schenn has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury. He chipped in 14 points over 58 contests and ranked ninth on the club in time-on-ice, averaging 18:04.

The Flyers have six games remaining and have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
