by Feb 16, 1:17 AM

The IIHF Disciplinary Panel will review the hit to the head of Slovakia forward Tomas Kopecky, per the IIHF official website.

Kopecky left during the first period of Slovakia's 3-1 loss to Slovenia on Saturday after being hit in the head by the elbow of Slovenian defenseman Sabahudin Kovacevic. Kopecky had difficulty getting to the bench after the hit and after undergoing evaluation was sent to the locker room. He did not return.

The panel will hold the formal review with Kovacevic prior to Slovenia's game against Team USA on Sunday and could decide to suspend the defenseman from playing against the Americans.
