Mikaela Shiffrin is not happy with just one Olympic gold: She wants five in 2018

Oh, sure. Just a couple gold medals here and there. Soon, they will only seem like glorified paperweights to U.S. skier Mikaela Shiffrin if she meets her 2018 goal. That's right: The newly-crowned slalom gold medalist is confident she can win all five alpine skiing events in four years.

"I'm still young and I still have a lot of strength to gain over the next few summers of conditioning and the next few winters of skiing. I don't want to push myself too far too fast and definitely don't get greedy, but at the same time, I'm a dreamer," Shiffrin said to reporters, via USA Today.

"So right now I'm dreaming of the next Olympics, winning five gold medals. Which sounds really crazy. Sorry I just admitted that to you all."

American star Lindsey Vonn decided not to attend the Olympics after surgery on her torn ACL, so all eyes were on Shiffrin in the lead up to the races. While 18-year-old finished in fifth in the grand slalom, which was her first-ever Olympic race, she became the youngest gold medalist in the slalom.
