CZE vs. SWE: Tre Kronor convincingly double up Czech Team in Group C action
The well dressed Swedish men's Olympic ice hockey team - known in hockey lexicon as "the Tre Kronor" - launched their gold medal bid at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games with a convincing 4-2 victory over the Czech Republic.
Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson led the way for the Tre Kronor, scoring two goals on two different Czech goaltenders. Swedish netminder Henrik Lundqvist rebounded from a shaky second period performance, and was flawless in the third period as the Czech Republic controlled play. Lundqvist finished with 27 saves on 29 shots faced.
