Chelsea will enter the final day of the English Women's Super League season on top after Maika Hamano's goal earned a tense 1-0 win away to Tottenham.

The Blues edge ahead of Manchester City on goal difference and remain on course for a fifth consecutive league title.

In Emma Hayes' penultimate game in charge, Japan international Hamano struck the winner late in the first half when she got on the end of a superb cross from Niamh Charles.

Chelsea face a tough test away to FA Cup winners Manchester United, while City travel to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Hayes' side have a two-goal better goal difference and have scored six more goals so City will need a three-goal swing to snatch the title should Chelsea not slip up.
