Juventus' Sami Khedira will miss 2 months with thigh injury
Sami Khedira's official debut with Juventus will have to wait as he recovers from a thigh injury.
The defending Serie A champions confirmed Khedira will miss two months after the team's medical staff discovered a tear in his thigh.
"Sami Khedira will be sidelined for approximately two months after medical examinations revealed a second-grade myotendinous tear of the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh," the team said in a statement.
The German midfielder suffered the injury during a preseason friendly against Marseille when he pulled up after chasing the ball, forcing him to leave after 25 minutes of play.
Khedira was also forced to miss a preseason friendly against Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer because of a muscular problem.
The injuries are nothing new for Khedira following last season's struggles with various ailments that limited the 28-year-old to just 11 appearances during his final season with Real Madrid.
