Inter Milan announced Wednesday the club has signed Turkish defender Caner Erkin to a three-year contract, with the out-of-contract player leaving Fenerbahce and officially joining the Nerazzurri on July 1, 2016.

The 46-times-capped Turkish international will compete with Yuto Nagatomo, Alex Telles, and Juan Jesus for a starting role at left full-back with Inter. He brings with him a penchant for creating chances from crosses on the overlap, and is an adept set-piece taker.

During his six years with Fenerbahce, he made 211 appearances, scoring 16 goals. He joins the Italian outfit on a free transfer.
