World Golf Rankings: Jason Day the new No. 4, Tiger continues to fall

Jean-Yves Ahern / USA TODAY Sports

After finally winning a tournament in 2015, Jason Day is reaping the benefits.

With his Canadian Open victory, Day jumped from No. 9 on the Official World Golf Rankings all the way to No. 4, just behind supreme talents Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Bubba Watson.

Outside of the top three, which remained intact, the decision to take the past week off affected the remaining top-10 players.

Previous No. 4 Dustin Johnson, who didn't compete this week, was bumped back one spot to No. 5. Henrik Stenson also fell one spot to No. 9, while Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler fell two spots each, to No. 7 and 8 respectively.

A fourth-place finish for Jim Furyk at the Canadian Open had him advancing one spot to No. 6, while Sergio Garcia continues to idle at No. 10.

Canadian David Hearn's third-place finish on home soil moved him from 128 to 105.

Struggling icon Tiger Woods fell eight more positions, from 258 to 266, and could fall out the top 300 depending on his performance at this week's Quicken Loans National.
