Harrington skyrockets up world rankings
Philadelphia, PA - Padraig Harrington picked up a playoff victory over Daniel Berger on Monday at the PGA Tour's Honda Classic and that helped the Irishman soar up the world rankings.
Harrington, who won for the first time on the PGA Tour since the 2008 season, climbed 215 spots from No. 297 to No. 82. Berger jumped 100 spots to No. 73.
The top-5 remained the same with Rory McIlroy followed by Bubba Watson, Henrik Stenson, Jason Day and Adam Scott. Jim Furyk and Sergio Garcia exchanged places for the second straight week with Furyk back to No. 6 and Garcia down to No. 7.
Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth and Martin Kaymer were eighth, ninth and 10th again this week. Rickie Fowler inched up one to 11th and that pushed Matt Kuchar down one notch.
Kuchar was followed by Jimmy Walker and Hideki Matsuyama. Patrick Reed dropped from a share of the lead into a tie for seventh at the Honda Classic. That finish helped him move up a spot to 15th, and that bumped Dustin Johnson down to 16th.
Victor Dubuisson and Billy Horschel were 17th and 18th again this week, while Brooks Koepka replaced Phil Mickelson at No. 19. Mickelson slipped one to 20th.
Andy Sullivan won his second European Tour event of the season and he improved 15 spots from No. 73 to No. 58.
