Sidney Crosby was held off the scoresheet for the first time in over a month Wednesday as the New York Rangers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0.

Crosby was on the ice for all three goals against and failed to register a shot on goal as the Rangers put an end to his career-high, seven-game goal-scoring streak with the victory.

It's the first time Crosby has been held pointless since Jan. 9 against the Montreal Canadiens, snapping his 11-game streak.

The 28-year-old finished with 22 points during the impressive stretch, leading the Penguins to a 7-2-2 record over that span. Despite the loss, Pittsburgh remains in the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with a 27-19-7 record on the campaign.

Henrik Lundqvist led the Rangers to victory, making 34 saves for his third shutout of the season.

Lundqvist improves to 27-14-4, and now sports an impressive 2.32 GAA and .923 save percentage this season.

Kevin Hayes opened the scoring for New York, before Dominic Moore and Jesper Fast put the game out of reach in the third period as the Rangers won their fourth consecutive game to improve to 31-18-5. They are now six points ahead of the Penguins in the Metropolitan division.

Crosby and the Penguins will look to get back on track against the Carolina Hurricanes, while the Rangers will aim to win their fifth game in a row when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.
