Eric Hartline / USA TODAY Sports

Eric Boulton has carved out two decades worth of professional hockey.

The New York Islanders signed Boulton to a one-year contract Tuesday, extending his career for a 20th professional season.

He'll earn $575,000 in base salary and $25,000 if the Islanders qualify for the playoffs, as well as an additional $25,000 for every series the team wins, reports TVA's Renaud Lavoie.

Boulton appeared in 10 games for the Islanders last season, scoring twice and registering 30 penalty minutes.

He was chosen 234th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
