Datsyuk among 4 Red Wings placed on injured reserve

Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk and three of his teammates have been placed on injured reserve in a quartet of procedural moves by the club Sunday.

Datsyuk had ankle surgery over the summer and is expected to resume skating later this week. He will likely miss the start of the season.

Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser was placed on IR retroactive to Sept. 30. He is expected to miss three-to-four weeks with a sprained ligament in his foot.

Fellow blue-liner Alexey Marchenko will be added to the IR retroactive to Sept. 28 with a lower-body injury, while forward Darren Helm is on IR retroactive to Sept. 18 with a concussion and shoulder injury.
