Oilers place Scrivens on waivers with intent to send him to AHL

The Edmonton Oilers have placed former starting goaltender Ben Scrivens on waivers in order to assign him to their AHL affiliate.

Scrivens will be sent to the Bakersfield Condors if he clears.

The 29-year-old went 15-26-11 with a 3.16 GAA and .890 save percentage in 57 games for the Oilers last season.

Edmonton acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the New York Rangers at the draft and signed netminder Anders Nilsson to a one-year deal in July after landing him in a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
