Lee Stempniak signs 1-year contract with Devils

The New Jersey Devils have signed forward Lee Stempniak to a one-year contract, effectively ending his professional tryout with the club.
He will earn $850,000 on the one-year pact, the team confirmed.
Stempniak scored 15 goals and 28 points in 71 games split between the New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets last season.
He should have a relatively strong opportunity to build on those totals, and perhaps contribute in a top-six capacity, as he joins a rather muddled depth chart in New Jersey.
