Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello could make his return to Newark when the New Jersey Devils retire Martin Brodeur's No. 30 in February.

Devils co-owner Joshua Harris revealed that he plans to invite Lamoriello to the ceremony honoring the long-time New Jersey netminder.

"The situation with (Lou) is great," Harris told NHL.com's Mike Morreale.

"There is no animosity on any side. Lou made a decision to go in a different direction with his career and we supported that, and he supported us. So for sure, Lou will be invited to that ceremony and it'll be up to him whether he attends."

After 28 years as the Devils' GM, Lamoriello moved into the role of team president when Ray Shero was hired in May. However, Lamoriello resigned from that position and accepted the Maple Leafs' GM job on July 23.

The Devils will retire Brodeur's jersey at the Prudential Center on Feb. 9 before their game against the Edmonton Oilers.
