Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara will miss Thursday's season opener against the Winnipeg Jets due to his nagging upper-body injury, Bruins head coach Claude Julien confirmed after the morning skate.
Chara suffered the injury during a preseason game against the New York Rangers when he collided with forward Ryan Bourque. He was limited to one exhibition contest as a result.
The 38-year-old registered 20 points in 63 games last season.
