Reinhold Matay / USA TODAY Sports

Last season's success is paying off for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Since a run to the Stanley Cup Final this past June, the club has sold 3,000 new season tickets, according to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times.

The Lightning ranked ninth in the NHL in average attendance in 2014-15 (18,823), filling Amalie Arena to 98 percent capacity.

At present, there are 13,500 season tickets sold, and the Lightning remain well-positioned to succeed in the Eastern Conference this season.
