Free-agent goalie David Leggio has accepted a training camp invitation from the Winnipeg Jets, according to Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat.

The undrafted 31-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut, but posted impressive numbers with the AHL's Rochester Americans - the Sabres' minor-league team - over two seasons, highlighted by a .924 save percentage in 64 appearances in 2012-13.

Last year, however, his save percentage dropped to .861 while playing AHL hockey in the New York Islanders organization, putting his hockey future in doubt.

“You're only as good as your last game, last year," Leggio told Hoppe. "People may look at my statistics last year and have question marks. But I ... have confidence in myself in what I've done at the American League level and the minor-league level."

The Jets have plenty of options in net, with Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson in line to take the pro job, and Connor Hellebuyck and Eric Comrie also in the system.

Leggio may consider his European options should he fail to catch on with a North American club, with World Championship experience also under his belt.
