The NHL is looking to revamp its online and TV operations in a joint partnership with Major League Baseball Advanced Media, according to WEEI.com's DJ Bean.

The deal is believed to be valued at $1.2 billion over six years, and will give the NHL a seven-10 percent equity stake in MLB’s digital arm, according to Ian Thomas and Eric Fisher of Sports Business Journal.

With the deal, MLBAM is expected to take over the NHL's web operations, apps, and streaming videos, as well as the NHL Network.

MLBAM - which runs MLB.com, the official websites of all MLB clubs, YES Network, SportsNet New York, and more - will reportedly work with the NHL on programming and production, and pay the league approximately $100 million a year in rights fees.

The takeover is expected to take effect in 2016. An official announcement is expected at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
