The Calgary Flames won't have to travel as far to keep an eye on one of their top prospects.

Selected 60th overall in 2015, 18-year-old defenseman Oliver Kylington has been given permission by Swedish club AIK to play in North America next season.

"We do not stop Oliver from the opportunity he has been given," AIK general manager Anders Gozzi said in a statement, according to the Calgary Herald.

Kylington signed his entry-level deal with the Flames, and is eligible to play with the big club in 2015-16. It's more likely, however, he'll suit up for the AHL's Stockton Heat, or the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.
