Veteran forward Nik Antropov appears to be interested in taking another crack at North American hockey.

The 35-year-old has played for the KHL's Barys Astana over the last two seasons. However, his agent told Russian website Sports-Express.ru that Antropov might try returning to the NHL, according to a translation by The Hockey News.

"The decision depends on family circumstances," Shumi Babyev said, according to the translation. "At last year Antropov has one son living in Canada, and now he will play in the AAA league, and whether to leave him alone - there is something to think about."

Antropov appeared in 788 regular-season NHL games, recording 193 goals and 465 points. He was selected 10th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1998 and last played for the Winnipeg Jets in 2012-13, when he recorded 18 points in 40 games.

Antropov's 6-foot-6 frame makes him an intriguing option for teams needing size up front, but he'd likely need to take a substantial pay cut from his last NHL deal, which paid him more than $4 million per season.
