The Washington Capitals locked up one of their future stars Monday.

The team came to terms with restricted free agent Evgeny Kuznetsov on a two-year, $6-million contract, the team announced.

Kuznetsov will make $3 million a season, a nice increase from his $870,000 he earned this past season.

The 23-year-old is coming off his first full season with the Capitals where he had 11 goals and 37 points in 80 games. He also added five goals in 14 postseason games.
