The Vancouver Canucks put the finishing touches on their goal crease Monday.

The club announced the re-signing of goaltender Jacob Markstrom to a two-year deal, worth a reported $3.1 million, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Here's more from the team release:

Markstrom, 25, appeared in three games with the Canucks in 2014-15 and 32 games with the Utica Comets, where he posted a record of 22-7-2, a goals-against average of 1.88, save percentage of 0.934 and five shutouts. Markstrom backstopped the Comets to the Calder Cup Finals with a 0.925 save percentage and 2.11 GAA through 23 games.

The Canucks traded Eddie Lack to the Carolina Hurricanes over the weekend, and Monday's news solidifies Markstrom as Ryan Miller's backup.
