Pittsburgh's loss is Canada's gain.

Fresh off a Game 5 loss to the New York Rangers that saw his Penguins eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs, Sidney Crosby has decided to suit up for his home and native land at the World Championship in the Czech Republic.

Crosby, who's won two gold medals with Canada at the Winter Olympics, played in the 2006 tournament, leading all scorers with eight goals and eight assists in nine games.

Canada hasn't won a World Championship since 2007, and failed to medal in each of the past five tournaments.

Needless to say, Crosby's presence will boost its chances.
