Shea Weber ruled out of series vs. Blackhawks with lower-body injury

If the Nashville Predators are going to advance to the second round of the playoffs, they'll have to do it without Shea Weber.

The stalwart defenseman has been ruled out of the rest of the opening-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury suffered in Game 2, the team announced Friday.

The Predators also debunked the notion that Weber is suffering from an ACL injury.

Weber recorded an assist and two shots while averaging 25:49 of ice time through the first two games of the series.

The void left by his absence is being filled by youngsters Ryan Ellis and Seth Jones, both of whom have registered three assists to lead all Predators defensemen in scoring.
